About Us

Introduction

The Himalayan Blome Research Institute Ecosphere (HERI) is a Nepal based organization with of projects in implementation and many plans for the years ahead. It was founded in 2016. The main objective of the institute is to contribute sustainable development of mountain regions by means of scientific investigation capacity building and technical assistance exchange of experience and realization of the projects.


This institute also aims to undertake multidisciplinary research activity concerning aquatic and terrestrial environmental issues. Further, this institute will monitor aquatic and terrestrial environment and change occurring, analyze impact, plan and develop scientific management and Interlink ecosphere related scientific planning and research to safeguard Himalayan  and alpine environment in global basis with theoretical and practical approach and bring them into international forum.



Glimpse of Nepal

Nepal extended in the from of an elongated rectangle between the longitudes of 80°-15’ and 88°-15’E, latitude of 26°-15’ and 30°-30’ N. It is bounded on the north by the Tibet, autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China and on the east, south and west by Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh states of India. The total area of the kingdom is 800 kilometers east-west and its breadth varies from 144 to 240 kilometers north-south. Nepal has an area of 147,181 sq. km
     
Nepal is one of the richest countries in the world in terms if the bio-diversity due to its unique geographical position and latitudinal variation. The elevation of the country ranges from 80 m above sea level to the highest point on earth Mt. Everest at 8,848m, all within a distance of 150 km resulting into climatic condition from Subtropical to Arctic.
