Dr. Sabina Shrestha

Dr. Sabina Shrestha is a plant ecologist and natural products chemist. She has contributed more than forty scientific papers in national and international journals. She served departments of botany and environmental sciences in Patan Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University. Her book “National Park and Wildlife Reserves of Nepal (Nepali language)” was published by Curriculum Development Center of Nepal Government as a reference book. She had illustrated for Professor Tej Kumar Shrestha’s books “Birds of Nepal” and “Ichthyology of Nepal”. She has co-authored the book "Himalayan Flowers, Trees and Animals" (2011). She has a doctorate in biotechnology with major in oriental medicinal material engineering from the Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea. As post-doctoral fellow she served in Kyung Hee University (2011-2013) and Jeju National University (2014-2015). Her works on active compounds Rhus parviflora for neuroprotective and neurodegenerative disease have been granted patent rights. She has received Young Scientist Award of 2013 from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology.
