Ongoing Projects and Activities
In Nepal, practically no long term relevant research has been carried out on ecosystem, faunal and floral diversity and distribution in Nepal. Therefore many animals and plants verging toward extinction. Therefore, tremendous stride has been made to get an over view of existing knowledge about fauna and flora of Nepal.
To make beginning towards this direction, study on fish fauna of Nepal has been attempted. Attempt has also been made to explore fish diversity habitat and climatic changes and net impact on fish fauna of Nepal. The research result has been complied in the book Ichthyology of Nepal. Ecological Survey of vanishing wildlife including animals and plants of Himalayas and natural products identification of active components, isolation and identification from natural resources, new botanicals for medicine and food is also underway.

Special information. Special attempt is made to enthuse the reader about call of wild- its perception, history, people and ecology in the emerging paradigms of wilding. The traditional landscape and world of aboriginal Tharus and Chepang are well featured with wild plant and animal they collected and, hunted. The author's endeavours to bring ecstatically close to primitive pulse of life of these aboriginal people still throbbing in the heart of jungle.
